New Year, New Strategy, New Stories – Same D.J.

I have taken an unusually long hiatus in updating this site.   There are a few reasons for this, which I will touch on briefly…

  1. I started my own company, and also went to work for my friend’s company simultaneously.
  2. My wife sadly decided to end our marriage, and filed for divorce.
  3. I joined a band, and we play live twice a week.
  4. I ran out of good stories.

Well, that last one isn’t true.   I have a TON of good, true stories of stuff that has happened to me.

But around August, when I was framing the outline to “The Girl With the Tiny Vagina” (a non-sexual story, surprisingly), I realized that I wasn’t entirely thrilled with what I was doing here on ThoughtsFromParis. READ MORE

AdultSituations – Carlton Loves P**n

Remember watching HBO when you were a kid, and when an R rated movie came on like Angel Heart or Hardbodies 2, you sat with eager anticipation of the warnings that would display right before the film started?  As a boy, the best I could hope for was “nudity.”     Although, often times, if there wasn't nudity in a movie, there still might be “adult situations.”  This usually meant that there was some dialog in the movie pertaining to sex.  Good enough. Wendy's Can Eat It! (Since I Can't Eat There)

About a year ago I participated in a men’s weekend retreat out in the country.   About 15 participants and 13 facilitators gathered together for three days of serious work with the intent of exploring truth, shadows, and learning how to be a better man.   It was intense and emotional, and I saw dudes explore rage, shame, fear and sadness, as well as joy. The Big Racist Glass Head

I have this friend, Arnie Becker.

Okay, truth be told I don’t really have a friend named Arnie Becker, but for this story I feel I should change the names, as to not embarrass the real people involved.   But, if you really want to know who I’m talking about, just ask me.   I have a feeling I’ll tell you. READ MORE
