For weeks I’ve kept my head down. “Eyes on the prize” so to speak. Chris and the kids kept me laughing and well distracted in anticipation for the surgery. I had projects I was working on and fun plans I was making for summer trips. I had lots and lots of support from family and friends. When the day of the surgery came I was ready. I was scared out of my mind, but ready.

I didn’t know May was mental health awareness month. How ironic being that I’m having my first mental breakdown.
My daughter was dating a kid that became addicted to oxyconton. Was involved in robbries to support his habbit, was arrested and went to rehab. He’s out of jail and we know she’s still seeing him….Deep breath
The Support Group I’m Trying to Save
When my wife called me on a Wednesday and told me she had filed for divorce, I didn’t know what to do.
I went into shock. My biggest fear had become realized. Even though she had not mentioned the word divorce any our past therapy sessions in hindsight there were signs she was planning an escape. I just didn’t think the prison break would come that particular Wednesday. It was cowardly to do without mentioning to me in advance, and I was angry. I was also terrified. I felt like a failure. I needed to do something fast.
I’m Hosting a Writing Webinar Tomorrow Night
Tomorrow night at 6pm CST I’ll be hosting a webinar for the Ultimate Blog Challenge, the catalyst that got me to start writing every day.

I Met a Two-Time Olympic Gold Medalist
I got to meet a two-time Olympic gold medalist today.
A few months back I asked Brian Goodell to come speak to my sales team about motivation and having a positive attitude. I happened to come across him and thought it would be a great fit for our group. Never having met an Olympic athlete I was beyond excited. I’ve always been moved by people that achieve excellence.
Stuff That Just Entered My Mind Tonight
You about ready for cutest thing you’ve read all day?
My friend Suzanne and I (that I’ve known since the fifth grade) pick a movie on Friday nights and then both download it. She lives in Dallas, I’m in Chicago. We watch it and send texts to each other throughout the film. I will complete your next thought – yes, right after the movie I go and shave my vagina.

Just wanted to remind you of three things you can do right now to support the site but also have a bit of fun!
New ThoughtsFromParis Announcement!
I am proud to announce that I have been brought on as a full contributing editor for AimingLow.
This could not be more exciting as to be put on their official writing staff is a very big deal to me. At first I was a lowly guest submitter hoping that they’d publish one of my articles. Next came being chosen for their Comic Relief Roster. This is the Junior Varsity team of AimingLow where you fill in when the regular writers miss a deadline. Well, after a long stint as a red-shirt (football expression I’m told) I now can proudly claim myself on their masthead. This comes at a good time, too, as the paper magazine I write for seems to be folding, sadly. They never let me do a lot of dick humor, though. AimingLow encourages it.
Bloggers are Weird Podcast – First Episode Live!
I am very excited and proud to announce the first episode of my podcast Bloggers are Weird has been released!
The idea is simple – I wanted to give bloggers a chance to read a favorite story of theirs live. This is a plus for their readers who want to hear them speak and for future readers to get acquainted with the author. I will act as host asking them questions about their blog, style, and process. I picked up some advertisers to boot and learned how to engineer the bastard!
