I wrote a few days ago about how a woman I know contacted me about a girlfriend that I ought to call. I was very flattered she thought the two of us might hit it off.
When I inquired about this woman, who, for the rest of the article I'll call Shirley Hemphill (from What's Happening!!), because I used to watch that show and was always impressed with her jokes. Plus, her hair was amazing.
I have an acquaintance named Elizabeth. She’s not exactly a friend, because we never do anything together. This is of no fault of either of us. She has two kids and a husband. She’s also a highly accomplished veterinarian and runs her own practice. I like her very much, and she’s one of the sweetest people I have met.
I came down to Peoria this past Friday with my mom – see, she just bought a new car, and in an incredible act of generosity, is giving me her old car. So, we had to go to the DMV, do one of the title transfer things, order license plates, you know, car stuff.

Well, that last one isn’t true. I have a TON of good, true stories of stuff that has happened to me.
But around August, when I was framing the outline to “The Girl With the Tiny Vagina” (a non-sexual story, surprisingly), I realized that I wasn’t entirely thrilled with what I was doing here on ThoughtsFromParis.
Remember watching HBO when you were a kid, and when an R rated movie came on like Angel Heart or Hardbodies 2, you sat with eager anticipation of the warnings that would display right before the film started? As a boy, the best I could hope for was “nudity.” Although, often times, if there wasn't nudity in a movie, there still might be “adult situations.” This usually meant that there was some dialog in the movie pertaining to sex. Good enough.
