I just got off with Jodi Orton at American Dream Team, a radio program in the UK. We did about 25 minutes on my favorite topic – me.

I don’t know about how the FCC works over, or if they even have one, but I’m pretty sure I’ve seen tons of boobs and heard lots of f-words during prime time television programming.
It never occurred to me to ask what the policy is on adult topics or language.
I probably made a few tactical errors, such as…
Telling her audience that, “Nobody gives a shit about the guy who played Darth Vader.” (he’s a British actor)
Doing about three minutes on how great it is that the c-word in the UK is conversationally acceptable, where here it will end a marriage.
I also insulted the host at least three times directly, telling her that there is, “No chance in hell that Bradley Cooper is listening to this program.”
I never actually said the dreaded c-word. I’m no monster. But I kept riffing on it while the host kept trying to steer me into something else.
At one point she said she was hovering above the disconnect button, and I dared her to push it. But that was in jest, I hope.
After the interview I asked if I did okay, and she said yes but that their producer may cut out the c-word bit, and will have to bleep the “shit.”
It then hit me – I should have talked about “fanny.” Fanny is the greatest of all UK words and they love it over there. And what’s more amazing is that it has a totally different meaning than our version! How does that happen? We both speak roughly the same language! I could have done five minutes on “fanny.”
I told her if we need to recut the sequence, I’d be more than happy to riff on “fanny.” All in all, it was a fun interview and I’m grateful to have been asked to participate.
I’ll post a link to when the show goes live in a few weeks.

But would fanny sound as funny without the British accent?

Bonnet is weirder. I mean, who woulda thunk it was a car hood?

Wow.
Carla says:
The really funny thing about the dude who played Darth Vader is that he turned down the role of Chewbaca because he didn’t want his face covered by a mask.

Thanks for the mention, Delfin. Do you know that when you say you “just got off with Jodi (I’ll let you off for spelling my name wrong :p) Orton”, that means something completely different here in the UK?!
D.J. Paris says:
@JodieOrton Jodie, I meant, “Jodie and I engaged in sexual activity that resulted in mutual orgasm.”
