Notice: Function amp_is_available was called incorrectly. `amp_is_available()` (or `amp_is_request()`, formerly `is_amp_endpoint()`) was called too early and so it will not work properly. WordPress is not currently doing any hook. Calling this function before the `wp` action means it will not have access to `WP_Query` and the queried object to determine if it is an AMP response, thus neither the `amp_skip_post()` filter nor the AMP enabled toggle will be considered. The function was called too early (before the plugins_loaded action) to determine the plugin source. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. Thank you for posting this. My mum suffered from depression for years. Your words have helped me think differently about her. Even now, so shortly after her death I have anger in my thoughts of growing up. Don’t get me wrong I love her and miss her loads. Anger it has eaten away at me for years. I never thought about her pain & how she was feeling. Thank you. You have reminded me that it was not always about me. She may have been my mother. I may have some per conceived idea about how she should be. My mum was also a person and her feelings deserve a place in my heart also. Thank you. I can not say it enough. A huge hug to you xxx

Anxiety rules my life until exhausted, I slide down the rabbit hole. Where I am. Right now.
Thank you for articulating so well what that dark place is like.

Thank you for commenting 🙂 I recently had someone say to me it might help if I focus on people who are worse off than me – she meant it well and sincerely. Sigh. As though it is a minor melt down, having a bad day, feeling sorry for myself – rather than a deficiency in how my brain actually operates. It helps me a little to know I am not alone and that others get it too 🙂

Thank you for commenting. It really is the hardest thing to explain. And though I don’t wish the feelings on anyone, it does feel better to know we are not alone 🙂

You just described what I thought was indescribable. People who don’t suffer from this expect you to ‘snap out of it’. If only it were that easy. Thank you.

Thank you for this. It is so hard to explain what a depressive episode feels like to someone who has never experienced it. My depression manifests in similar ways. It is good that we aren’t alone.

I wasn’t sure if it would be too much, or too long. And – to anyone who reads it – please don’t be afraid to comment. I know that this subject makes people wary, but the more we talk about it, the more we de-stimatise it. I know that reading other people’s stories on other blogs has made me feel less isolated.
