If you’re a regular reader to this blog, you already know I flew down yesterday to Atlanta to visit Jessica, the woman I’m dating.
Not familiar with the reader turned girlfriend story? Click here!
I’m here through Sunday which allows me time to continue to develop intimacy with Jessica, explore Atlanta, celebrate NYE, and determine if the southern stereotypes in the real world match the ones in my head.
The only negative about this trip is that I’m still weak from the flu. I have a constant low-grade nausea. A doctor prescribed these anti-nasuea pills that are the primarily used with cancer patients who have gone through radiation. And they still aren’t really working.
Lesson? Don’t get cancer until big pharma ups their research and development for nausea.
I arrived around five last evening and we drove to her condo. Jessica lives in Midtown, which I can only describe as really cool and lots of winding roads. The constantly turning of the car wheels did not improve my sickness.
We spent a few hours at her condo and then walked over, thankfully across the street, to our ThoughtsFromParis get-together.
It was a lot of fun, and I was super grateful that people decided to show up. I presented Becky, the organizer, with shower gloves.
Jessica and I planned on having dinner after at a Vietnamese place, because when you think of Atlanta, you’re like, “Wait, is this Hanoi? So many rice paddies!”
But we stayed too long and missed dinner. This was a good thing for me because I was still feeling terrible. I nearly passed out two different times and had to stop mid-sentence, compose myself, and then continue the super fascinating story I was telling about me.
In fact, instead of going to dinner, we went to the grocery and stocked up on medicine. I’m not complaining mind you, I have a good time even when I’m sick.
I would like to personally thank Becky for this great idea, and also for being such a loyal reader. And now we’re buddies, which means a great deal to me.
Also, obviously, Jessica deserves special thanks for inviting me down here, exploring a relationship with me, and also buying the boiled peanut appetizer for everyone last night.
More details tomorrow.
Technically I said “photos” but there’s only one. Oops.
